Maintain the character of Williamstown

This year, we will chart the course for the next two decades.

2021 is the year of the new Williamstown Master Plan. This is a critical year; a new master plan is only developed once every 20 years. Our town will therefore chart the course for us for the next two decades. What do we want that future to look like?

I believe the residents of Williamstown want to see our community continue to grow and flourish. I know from my conversations with longstanding residents that it’s also imperative to pursue this growth while maintaining the exceptional character of this town - the inviting bustle of Spring Street, the historic architecture, the elegant tree-lined streets. Tourism is an integral part of our economic stability: these unique qualities bring tourists to our town year after year, and must be preserved.

We want to develop a master plan that not only safeguards the character of our town, but also provides a template for future growth and development. We want to do this while addressing the issues of climate change and environmental sustainability, as well as embracing net-zero goals.

With a lifetime of swinging the hammer and an education in design, planning is home ground for me. I have already used my knowledge and experience to help the town make decisions that affect the character of our community, for example when new LED street lighting was proposed. I’ve spent the past few years talking and listening to countless Williamstown residents, and bringing their ideas and concerns to the forefront. So not only do I have the background to effectively chart our course, I believe my voice is truly your voice.

Your vote will decide the future of Williamstown. That’s why I ask for your vote on May 11.
